kraamhulp
Today is already the last day of the ‘kraamhulp’. Another word I cannot translate. It is the help that you get after you gave birth. Something like the maturnity help. Although Josephine used her 10 days in the hospital, we got three days extra. at home. Thanks to Liedy of Debuut to arrange it for us on such a short notice and of course thanks to the kraamhulp Lisette. In the new year we have to do it all by ourselves.

We all have to get used to eachother ritme. But we all love it! The weekend was a good timing to come home. We sleep, eat and cuddle. In between we do the wassing, ironing and cooking. We love every bit of it! I must say, it is a long time ago that I had such a relaxing weekend! This morning he had his first bath at home. I think he still has to get used to that part. Next time I take him with me under the shower. In the evening he is more awake, so we can make him tired for the night. Lets see how the night goes. ![]()
WKZ

But then the old one! That means that Tobi is home now. Funny enough we came home from the hospital at the same time he was born 2 weeks ago! Oke, minus one hour en and 23 minutes, but hé, who would notice. Anyway, he is home, and that counts. Today life can really start :-)
PS: does anybody know tips for hiccups and cramps?

Yeah, Tobi can come home tomorrow! The only thing he has to do is keep his food inside. He gets 50 cc per feed now and does not have any infusions left. That is, he needs a blood infusion, which only takes 6 hours. He is a little bit anaemic. So, fingers crossed and lets hope he can come home tomorrow.

Tobi had another test today. This time no blood pricks, but his hearing test. With all the bleeps around him, you would expect that he won’t react to it, but he passed with a smile!

Today Tobi goes to another hospital: the Wilhelmina Kinder Ziekenhuis. Good news you would say, because we live in the Wilhelmina Kinder Ziekenhuis. But no, we misunderstood, they mean the new WKZ: the childrens hospital. They want to do a test, which they cannot do at Mesos. Josephine and Tobi go by ambulance, and I follow by bike.

Well, Tobi has to stay. They just want to be sure. That means all kind of tests. Poor Tobi, that also means a lot of pricks. And Tobi was already born with a big headache! The main reason is that he is not digesting his food. He throws up once in a while his food. We think it is all the hussle around him. All the tests, all the pricks, all the bleeps, all the wires. Poor Tobi. At the moment he just wants to be left alone.
Apgar score
Tobi’s first test; the Apgar score, named after dr. Virginia Apgar. Directly after a baby is born, his Appearance (color), Pulse (heartbeat), Grimace (reflex), Activity (muscle tonus), and Respiration (breathing) is checked. You can get a score from 0 till 10. Tobi scored 5 over 8 (5 after five minutes and 8 after ten minutes).
